Accessibility Information
Our aim is to be accessible and welcoming to everyone who comes to Laycock Street Community Theatre.
If you require specific seating, audio or accessible parking, we are happy to assist.
For Patrons
Parking
There is level access from the car park and street into the theatre foyer, theatre and toilets.
There are four accessible parking spaces located in the car park adjoining the theatre.
Paths of Travel
There is a continuous accessible path of travel to the main entrance from the accessible parking spaces.
There is a ramp leading up to the Pacific Highway side entrance.
In the case of an emergency, there is a continuous accessible path of travel from the accessible seating spaces to the assembly area.
Companion Cards
Companion Cards are accepted, providing complimentary tickets for your companion.
Companion Card tickets can be booked online, in-person or over the phone.
Hearing Loop
The is a powered, audio induction hearing loop system. Hearing aid wearers use “T” switch.
Assistance Animals
All certified assistance animals are welcome inside Laycock Street Community Theatre. Advance notification is not required; however, Box Office staff can assist with seating arrangements if requested.
Seating
The theatre front row is located close to the main theatre door and continues on level access. Should you require seats on level access, please advise the box office staff when booking your tickets.
The remaining theatre seating is raked, with stair access and no lift facility.
Centre aisle hand hold supports are installed a to provide additional support. These supports are installed along the centre stepped aisle and are intermittent, with individual rails positioned at the end of each seating row.
Patrons who have a visual impairment requiring seats closer to the front should advise box office staff when booking.
Wheelchair Seating
The entire front row has removable seats that can be removed for wheelchair users or users of other mobility equipment. To ensure we provide a space that meets your needs, we ask you please email us at laycockstreettheatre@centralcoast.nsw.gov.au or call the box office on 4323 3233 so we can secure you a suitable space.

Width between front and second row: 70cm
Width between all other rows: 55cm
Width between front row and stage edge: 235cm
Width between front edge seats and steps to stage: 115cm

There is an accessible toilet available on the ground floor.

For Performers
Dressing Room
There is an accessible toilet and shower in the P-side (prompt side) dressing room.
On Stage
There is a low-rise platform lift from dressing room level to stage level on the P-side.

They are a social learning tool that can help individuals know what to expect, and learn socially appropriate behaviour and responses.

The Laycock Street Theatre is now a partner of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower and our staff are trained to recognise the symbol. Launched in the 2016 and now a globally recognised symbol, the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is about supporting people with a hidden disability, making the invisible, visible and helping them attain the understanding, patience and assistance needed when going about their daily lives ensuring that everyone has access to services and can navigate public spaces comfortably, confidently and be their authentic selves. People with hidden disabilities such as autism, chronic illnesses or mental health conditions can wear a Sunflower lanyard or badge alerting staff and the public to their need for additional consideration and patience. Without a visual cue, it can be difficult for others to identify, acknowledge, or understand the daily barriers faced by people living with an invisible disability.
